YouTube Music Now Lets Users Download Songs on PC
YouTube Music now allows users to download songs for offline listening directly from their PC—a long-awaited feature for many listeners.
Previously, YouTube Music only supported offline downloads on smartphones.
With this update, users can finally download tracks for offline playback through the desktop app.
Even better, YouTube Music now lets users save entire playlists, making it easier to enjoy music without an internet connection.
According to GizChina on Monday (April 1, 2024), YouTube has been testing offline downloads on desktop for some time. The feature was initially available only to a small group of beta testers.
Following successful trials, Google’s music streaming service is now rolling out the feature to a wider audience.
The update is being released gradually. Some users will see a notification saying “New! Download music to listen offline.”
If this notification appears, users can start downloading their favorite songs on YouTube Music for Desktop.
To download music, simply hover over the song or album page and click the download icon.
This button is located between the “Save to library” option and the three-dot menu.
Downloaded tracks will appear in the “Downloads” section within the Library menu. A filter option allows users to sort by songs, podcasts, albums, or playlists.
